“NORTHERN” OAK HAIRSTREAK, (Satyrium favonius ontario)
The Oak Hairstreak has two distinct subspecies the “Northern” subspecies ontario and the “Southern” subspecies favonius. There is a thin overlap in territory in northern Florida. This butterfly has one brood and is common along edges of woods where it can be found nectaring on a variety of flowers.
