Cobweb Spiders, Family Theridiidae
All housewives are familiar with this group of spiders.  It’s amazing that a week after cleaning an apartment located in a high-rise, that there would be cobwebs.  These amazing spiders can be found from deserts to mountains, the tropics to the Arctic and there is probably one at least three feet from you right now.  These spiders build tangle webs and are very efficient at capturing crawling insects and the spider can subdue very large prey items including mice and lizards for some species.  The widows and the common house spider are in this group.
