Centipedes, Class Chilopoda
Most are familiar with this group. Centipedes have one pair of legs per body segment, are predators and have venom glands. Most are not dangerous to people, but they should not be handled. The largest tropical species can grow quite large and have no problems capturing and eating large prey such as birds, mice and lizards.
