AMERICAN SNOUT, (Libytheana carinenta)
A common butterfly found in the southern U.S.  In some years there is an explosion of this species where they are seen by the millions.  It is an excellent dead-leaf mimic and has long palpi that are distinctive for this butterfly.  It flies from spring to fall with multiple broods.  Look for it in most any habitat on flowers, mud and sap-flows.
