QUESTION MARK, (Polygonia interrogationis)
A common anglewing found in the eastern 2/3 of the U.S.  It comes in to seasonal forms, summer and winter.  This is called seasonal dimorphism.  It flies from spring to fall with 2 broods.  It can be found in cities, wooded parks and along waterways.  An easy way to get a very close look at one is to find a sap-flow in a tree.  Many will be attracted to a fermenting sap-flow where they will drunkenly jostle for position.  Its common name comes from the white mark on the underside of the hind wing which looks like a question mark.
