CALLIPPE FRITILLARY, (Speyeria callippe)
A common butterfly found in the northwest forth of the U.S.  Normally the first greater fritillary to be seen during the butterfly flight season with one brood in late spring.  An avid visitor to flowers and a “hilltopper,” its caterpillars eat violets.
