GULF FRITILLARY, (Agraulis vanillae)
A beautiful butterfly found in the southern U.S. and down to South America. The caterpillars eat passion vines and the adult gains protection from the noxious chemicals passed from the larval stage. Common in gardens with passion vine growing and will readily lay eggs.
